Episode 00001: Welcome to The Daily Spirit

December 2, 2025

Opening (~1 minute)

I struggle with depressive thoughts.

Not all the time. But enough that I've had to really study what pulls me out. What actually works. And here's what I've found: the moments I feel most alive, most energized, most like myself... are when I'm encouraging someone else. When I'm in their corner, reminding them who they are and what they're capable of.

It took me almost 33 years to figure that out. How funny is that? A big source of energy was right there the whole time.

So here's what I'm doing. You're getting this because you're one of the couple dozen people I believe in deeply. This is an experiment. Five minutes a day. Me in your inbox, reminding you that you're not alone in whatever you're facing.

Me getting energized, knowing that this might be exactly what you need to get after it today.

The Why (~2 minutes)

I've also been thinking about how hard it can be for people to dedicate time to the word of God. Or to make it feel worth it to listen to a traditional podcast for inspiration.

Often what people like me need is just a friend saying: "Hey. I'm in the trenches with you. I see you pushing yourself. I see you overcoming resistance. And I'm with you in spirit."

Challenges are part of life. Spiritual warfare is real. But so is spiritual brotherhood. And that matters.

If you don't want these in your inbox, feel free to unsubscribe. Zero offense taken. But if you're in, I'm glad you're here.

I don't know where this could go. But I'm just doing the thing. Shout out to all the overthinkers who are getting better at just doing the thing.

Personal Update (~1 minute)

A little on my end, if we haven't caught up in a while:

I'm totally stepping out of my comfort zone in general. Going deep in applied AI. Learning how to build agentic workflows. How to build solutions for real businesses that could stand to be more resilient and efficient in this time of the AI revolution.

I'm getting pulled into some interesting corporate projects to solve real painpoints. It's exciting.

Also recently, I got baptized and found a pastor that I really like. More on that to come.

One thing I'll say about the pastor I've been studying under: he really encourages the speaking of the word. So I think one of the things I'll weave into these daily exhortations is saying scripture and/or affirmations together.

Affirmations (~1 minute)

Very open to your feedback about what you appreciate or don't appreciate about this process.

Let's keep this short. If you're up for it, just a couple minutes of affirmations. Let's do it.

I'll say the affirmation, then give you time to repeat.

[Pause after each for repetition]

God richly supplies all my needs.

I walk in ever-increasing health.

I live under supernatural protection.

I will thrive in my work today.

I say to this day: Whatsoever my hand finds to do, I do it with all my might.

I have an unction from the Holy One, and I know all things.

I fear not, for God is with me. He strengthens me. He helps me. He upholds me with the right hand of his righteousness.

Closing

That's it for today.

Go get after it. God is with you.

Talk tomorrow.
