Episode 00018: Your Doubts Are Liars
December 23, 2025
Greeting
Welcome back to The Daily Spirit. Tuesday, December 23rd, 2025. Five minutes of spirit-filled encouragement to start your day.
Before we dive in, a quick note. We're going to take a break for Christmas. I'll be back on Monday, December 29th. But before we pause, I want to get real with you.
Opening Hook
Do you ever feel like your ideas are too crazy?
Like the thing God put on your heart is too big. Too expensive. Too unlikely. Like you're just a drop in the bucket. Like who are you to pull this off?
I want to tell you something. I feel that way too. Right now. Today.
Scripture & Core Message
Isaiah 41:13: "That's right. Because I, your God, have a firm grip on you and I'm not letting go. I'm telling you, 'Don't panic. I'm right here to help you.'"
God has a firm grip on you. He's not letting go. The voice telling you that you can't do it? That's not from Him. He's right here to help you.
The Confession
I'm going to be honest with you.
As I look at 2026 and the projects God has laid in front of me, there's a weight on my shoulders. Expectations. Some I put on myself. Some others have put on me.
And the thoughts creep in.
"This is going to take too much money to fundraise."
"I'm not going to find the right partners."
"My ideas are crazy."
"I'm just one person."
Today I did some budgeting for a project I really want to work on. The numbers are scary. And for a moment, the resistance won. I felt small.
But then I remembered something.
The Truth
These doubts? They're liars.
Anyone doing something meaningful faces these same thoughts. The devil's playbook isn't original. He whispers the same fears to everyone stepping out in faith.
And it's so easy to forget the ways the odds are stacked in your favor.
Your intelligence. Your connections. The favor God has shown you. The fact that if this is your calling, you will figure out what you need to figure out. Not because you're special. But because God is faithful.
God is my cofounder. Even when I have human partners, He's the most important one. And if I stay humble. Stay in prayer. Don't let the devil's thoughts take root. I'll be okay. You'll be okay.
Exhortation
Here's what I want you to hear today.
You are not alone in your doubts. But your doubts are not the truth. They're resistance. And resistance is a sign you're doing something that matters.
So as you head into Christmas, do what you can. One step at a time. Be transparent with your partners. "Here's what it's going to take. If you're still on board, let's do it." That's all you can do. That's all God asks.
And in the meantime? Enjoy the holiday. Be grateful for your friends. Your family. For God.
We're going to rest for a few days. And then we're coming back. And we're going to grow this Kingdom together.
Affirmations
Let's speak some truth over your insecurities. I'll say it, you repeat.
[Pause after each for repetition]
My doubts are liars.
God has a firm grip on me.
He is not letting go.
If this is my calling, God is my cofounder, and I will figure it out, with His help.
I take one step at a time.
Closing
That's it for today.
Merry Christmas. Enjoy your people. Rest. Recharge. And I'll see you Monday, December 29th.
God is with you.
