Episode 00006: You Were Not Given A Spirit Of Fear

December 9, 2025

Greeting

Welcome back to The Daily Spirit. Tuesday, December 9th, 2025. Five minutes of spirit-filled encouragement to start your day.

Opening Hook

What's something you've been avoiding because it scares you?

Not a big dramatic fear. Maybe something small. Something embarrassing. Something you don't even want to admit out loud.

I'll go first.

Today I opened QuickBooks for the first time in a while. And I have to be honest with you—it intimidated me. Money stuff intimidates me. I've been afraid of doing things the wrong way. Afraid of asking dumb questions. Afraid of being behind other people.

I even had to schedule an appointment with a QuickBooks representative just to walk me through the basics. That wasn't easy to admit.

Scripture & Core Message

2 Timothy 1:7: "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind."

God did not give you a spirit of fear. He didn't give me one either.

I don't know where my fear of money came from. I suspect there's some generational stuff there. This week I literally asked God to break my money trauma. And I think the signs of it are showing. Because today, I faced it. I opened the thing. I scheduled the call. I did the housekeeping.

It might not seem like much to you. But for me? That was a win.

Exhortation

Here's what I want you to hear today.

It's okay to not be okay. It's okay to be afraid. But know this: God did not give you that fear. And whatever He puts on your heart to do, He will give you the knowledge, the courage, everything you need to do it.

I'm giving you permission today—not that you needed it from me—but as a brother in Christ, as a brother in ambition: you don't have to have it all figured out.

You're allowed to ask the dumb questions. You're allowed to be behind. You're allowed to stumble forward.

I'm sure there's something you're embarrassed about. Something you've been avoiding. Don't be ashamed. We're all overcoming our fears. And that's beautiful. Even the smallest victories count.

So face that thing today. Open that email. Make that call. Start that conversation. God has your back as you stumble forth into becoming exactly who you need to be.

Affirmations

Let's speak some truth over your fear. I'll say it, you repeat.

[Pause after each for repetition]

God did not give me a spirit of fear.

I have power, love, and a sound mind.

I am allowed to ask for help.

My small victories matter.

I stumble forward with God by my side.

I will face my fear today.

Closing

That's it for today.

I love you. Don't be afraid. God has your back.

Talk tomorrow.
