Why Modern Minds Fragment And False Worldviews Proliferate
Your brain becomes a junkyard when you let algorithms curate your reality instead of God.
I had a conversation with my friend Tim that clarified something I've been wrestling with: why so few people act in a righteous and coherent manner, even when all the information about what is right (Christ) is out there on the internet.
The answer is simple. Coherent behavior (righteous or not) requires a coherent worldview. But you can't build a coherent worldview by letting your mind run on autopilot through Instagram reels and random tweets.
Most people today don't have coherent worldviews. Their minds are junkyards for what I call worldview 'fragments'—bits and pieces of thousands of mostly contradictory ideas that feel true in the moment of collection but create chaos when you try to live by them.
This is why young women today are simultaneously "empowered" and unable to maintain neither careers nor relationships. Why libertarians sound exactly as naive as communists when you strip away the surface rhetoric. Why seemingly brilliant people make catastrophically stupid life decisions that dishonor God.
Their minds are dumping grounds for whatever content maximizes engagement for tech platforms. Frankenstein’s monsters of sorts. The algorithms aren't optimized for forming humans, obviously. They're optimized for ad revenue and watch time.
One of the reasons I know Christianity is true is that it uniquely achieved global adoption largely through persuasion, witness, and sacrificial love—not merely conquest.
Modern secular movements try to copy this pattern—universal appeal, global coordination, moral authority—but they lack the foundational coherence and TRUTH that made Christianity work. They're trying to fork Christianity but leave out Christ, which is like trying to build a town on quicksand.
Speaking of false forks of Christianity, different flavors of Western secular humanism are simply watered-down versions of Christianity that remove our spiritual reality. Even the most energetic techno-optimism—think Y Combinator-style manifestos about "building the future" and "solving every problem with code"—ends up as a kind of secular gospel, promising transcendence through innovation but unable to address the deepest needs of the soul. An atheistic 'anti-woke' posture is not a life path. Feminism, as an ultimate framework, is not a way forward for women. These ideologies, even when dressed up in the language of progress and disruption, can sound truthy, but they are not life-giving paths you can live and die by.
Here's the deeper problem. When people with different spiritual foundations try to collaborate, they default to the lowest common denominator: material concerns. Money. Power. Worldly success. Because that's all they can—or at least, the most spiritually lukewarm of them can—agree on.
This is satanic compromise—reducing what could be the coordination of fellow believers to the coordination of greed or the accumulation of other false idols because it's easier to align sinners on these things than demand the mutual pursuit of spiritual righteousness.
What happens millions of times a day is Christians deferring to the anti-Christian logic of worldly thought leaders instead of thinking from Christly principles. These Christians feel obligated to take secular ideologies seriously and make decisions using secular logic, even when their intuition screams that these ideas are nonsense.
Brilliant believers who know better entertain obviously false worldviews because the people promoting them sound smart or have impressive credentials. They've been trained to respect ideas that deserve no respect.
Meanwhile, social media systematically fragments whatever coherent thinking remains in their ostensibly Christian minds. TikTok can inject hundreds of contradictory worldview snippets into your brain in a single session. Your mind becomes a dumpster fire of random ideological bits that make you inconsistent, flaky, and unable to build anything lasting.
This is why libertarianism, feminism, and communism continue to proliferate despite their obvious failures. They're not succeeding because they're true. They're succeeding because they're designed to spread like viruses through fragmented minds that lack immune systems.
All three false ideologies offer the same thing: simple explanations for complex problems, moral justification for personal desires (excuses for sin), and the promise that changing external systems will fix internal brokenness. They sound different but operate identically—blind idealism that ignores human nature and divine authority.
The antidote to viral falsehood isn't better arguments or smarter rebuttals. It's what I've called discipleship infrastructure that makes it easier to form and stick to a coherent worldview based on unchanging Truth, and act as though this worldview is indeed true!
Christianity is the only true worldview (and lifestyle) because it acknowledges what secular ideologies deny: evil is real, humans are fallen, and only divine transformation creates lasting change. You can't build civilization on anything less foundational.
So, if you care about God, take care of your mind.
Stop consuming random content. Stop following accounts that inject worldview fragments into your thinking. Stop pretending that "staying informed" requires exposing yourself to corrosive propaganda.
Build your worldview intentionally around unchanging truth, or watch it get assembled algorithmically by people who profit from your confusion.
