Revival Week Reflection: Ankit Rambabu in San Antonio

A Journal Entry on Evangelistic Excellence & Apostolic Comparison

Date: October 14, 2025
Location: Outside Friendship Church, San Antonio, TX
Author: Gary Sheng

My new business partner and spiritual mom (as she likes to say), Brenda, and I had a good conversation about evangelist Ankit Rambabu earlier in the week. I joked that if this guy's a scammer (a label which, by the way, I think should be rarely applied in black and white terms), this would be "a scam designed specifically for Gary Sheng." And honestly, that basically holds up as true.

After having lunch with him, attending his services, and experiencing his ministry firsthand, I'm extremely impressed by his rhetorical performance (showmanship) and knowledge of the Bible. I love the joy I experienced seeing people receive miracles (God help them keep their miracles).

Through talking to Brenda, I wonder if he's a bit more concerned about money and status than what would make sense if we were living in complete obedience to God. I pray the Holy Spirit helps him recognize how he can be corrected in this area. But overall, this experience has given me valuable vocabulary for ministering to people and a lot to think about regarding how we would host events for Nation of Fire.

Doubling Down on Supporting Apostle Delmar

Brenda and I were discussing her experience at one of the services last night, and here's my personal reflection: I'm quite satisfied dedicating more and more of my time to Apostle Delmar Coward Jr. as the minister I support, learn from, and swim in the anointing of. I don't need to be trying to do too much stuff with too many other people.

The way Brenda talks about Apostle is that he's by far the number one person she thinks has the greatest anointing—the spiritual heir of Kenneth Hagin. And I have no reason to disagree with that assessment. A big part of me wants to be optimistic that there are more people like him operating in their own spheres around the world. There are certainly good teachers everywhere. But the anointing that Apostle Delmar has is rare (and he's a wonderful person), and the more life experience I have, the more I realize just how rare it is.

Final Thoughts

Having Ankit's ministry as a reference point and experiencing different approaches is valuable, and I'm grateful for this experience. I'm also grateful to be able to compare notes with Brenda.

That's my journal entry today as I sit outside Friendship Church, which is hosting Revival Week, getting some fresh air while the doors are open.
