Birthday Letter to Wilson Fong

Date: December 12, 2025

Dear Wilson,

Happiest of birthdays to you!

It's truly remarkable that you're in your 50s because you have the energy that I aspire to in my early 30s. Your vitality and passion for life, work, and relationships continue to inspire me every single day.

I look up to you in so many ways. While we may not have the exact same spiritual beliefs, I do believe there was a reason why we were connected. Your presence in this world gives me a lot of hope. The way you've raised your kids gives me a lot of hope. And I think we need hope more than almost anything today. We need role models more than almost anything today.

Your mentorship has been transformative for me. You've taught me about commitment, about staying power, about building meaningful relationships that last. When you told me about your 30-year marriage and how that mindset shapes your approach to business partnerships, it fundamentally changed how I am increasingly thinking about collaboration. Your philosophy of waking up each day ready to give, to produce moments with care and attention and joy, has become a north star for how I want to live my own life.

Thank you for your direct feedback, even when it's challenging to hear. Thank you for seeing both my potential and my rough edges, and caring enough to help me polish them. Thank you for demonstrating what it means to embrace every situation with love rather than judgment.

I'm incredibly grateful to know you and genuinely excited about the possibilities of working together in the near future. The chance to learn from you while building something meaningful together is a gift I don't take lightly.

May this year bring you continued joy, success, and those pressure moments that make you feel alive, squeezing them into diamonds as only you can do.

With deep respect and gratitude,

Gary
