Message to Ida: TCEA Demand Validation Experiment

Date: December 28, 2025

Hey Ida! Hope you're having a blessed holiday season.

I wanted to share something I'm working on and get your thoughts.

I'm planning to run a small experiment this week - spending about $100 on Facebook ads targeting Christian parents in San Antonio to see if there's real demand for alternative Christian education options, especially with TEFA funding opening up in February.

The idea: Parents take a quick quiz about their situation (child's grade, IEP status, what they're looking for in a school, church background, etc.) and then receive a personalized report about their TEFA funding options and school pathways.

I'm doing this to get real data before we invest more deeply. If we get 25+ parents completing the quiz, that's a strong signal. And we'll learn exactly WHO is interested - are they mostly special needs families? What zip codes? What are they looking for?

I'm keeping your name out of it for now - the "brand" is just "Texas Christian Education Alliance" as a neutral resource. But if this validates demand, you'd be the first person I bring the data to.

A few questions for you:

  1. Does this approach make sense to you?
  2. Any specific questions you'd want me to ask these parents that would help you evaluate whether to pursue this?
  3. Any San Antonio zip codes or areas you think would be especially receptive?

No pressure to respond quickly - just wanted to keep you in the loop since this directly relates to what we've been dreaming about.

Blessings, Gary
